Staycations turned into holidays abroad!!
I was all packed and ready to go on holiday with my fiancée when she came down with a really bad stomach ache, the day before we were going to leave. Both of us had been really looking forward to going on this 3 week holiday, and it was the only time that we could get off work this year. So we were now trapped at home and we both needed to do something.
We were informed about Virtual holidays by a friend of ours, after we cancelled our “real” holiday. What an earth is a Virtual holiday, i wasn’t at all sure about this. This site actually allows you to take a tour round cities across the world, from the comfort of your own chair. Trying to get some of these holidays when your not well isn’t easy, so something like this can work well.
I was starting to think, what is this all about, I am not thinking about this at all. I pictured this thing to be a bit boring and not at all informative, sort of like a trailer for a holiday.
This was actually a lot more diverse and more intricate than I could imagine. We did pay for the one that we wanted, but some sites offer this for free. We paid for a tour round New York, which is where we were going to go. There were several locations and places for us to visit, it quite clearly showed us where we could go, and where we would be going. This was great, it took us all over the city, including museums and parks, the sound was very clear and the picture steady.
The Narrating was especially good, and extremely informative. This is going to be a very big piece of software.
We had fun trying this “trip”, although it isnt the same as the actual thing, it is not that different, we would like to try the Egypt holidays or Maldives holidays one, where the experiences are far too expensive for us to try, maybe Christmas holidays just got a lot cheaper?
