I am in Bucharest on business. Anything unusual in the city to see that is not in the tour guides?
* No time to travel outside the city (so no Castle Dracula or monasteries)
* Have a full list of museums, parks, and the typical stuff already
* Looking for cool things to see/do that are not the typical tourist trap
* Not interested in “red light” activities
* Three of us visiting (2 men, one woman) from the US. None of us speak RO but we can ask a local co-worker to come with us.

Yeah – here are some ideas – places where Romanians go
Herastrau Park and you can visit Muzeul Satului – it’s in the park
Cismigiu – another park (we like to walk, and it’s good for you)
Eat at La Carul cu Bere – Romanian food, restaurant has been there for a long, long time
If you like Dancing go to Regie – student area -depends how old you are though, and where you feel comfortable – but Regie has many clubs, some crazy, some mild.
Eat a chicken shawerma, please, for me. The best one is by Dristor.
Also eat some mici with mustard and bread (chifle) and have a Ursus beer with them. I recommend La Hanul lui Manuc, it’s close to Unirii Square and you can eat outside on the balcony. Oh, and get some papanasi with preserves (papanashi) for desert – they are awesome!
